Insight and Experience Panel

From reviewing content and policies, to taking part in the development of support services and innovative research projects, your feedback and involvement means a lot and will help make a big difference.

Ways to get involved

There are a number of ways to get involved as a member of JDRF’s Insight and Experience Panel, depending on your interests.

We expect the opportunities to include:

• Reviewing type 1 information and materials: Commenting on the content of JDRF’s website
• Commercial market research: Taking part in market research which seeks information about the needs and preferences of people who live with type 1 diabetes or care for someone with type 1 diabetes. These opportunities are run by market research companies (not JDRF)
• Policy development: Taking part in the development and updating of JDRF principles, rules and guidelines (policies)
• Scientific research support: Offering advice to researchers, funded or not by JDRF, at any stage of a research project. Comments and contribution may be sought by the researchers in the early stages (before applying for funding), once the project is started (as member of steering group) or later on to disseminate the results
• Resource review: Reviewing and improving JDRF existing information resources as well as helping to create new support resources for the type 1 community
• Service design: Contributing to the planning, communication and content of JDRF service offering

How it works

We will email you as opportunities of interest become available.

Some opportunities will be one-offs, taking a few minutes or hours to complete. Others will require longer term commitment which may include attendance at several meetings over a period of time.

The level of commitment will be made clear for each opportunity and you do not have to take part in every project.

This will give you the opportunity to ask us any questions and give us the chance to find out more about you too. We want to make sure that this is the right role for you and that you’ll be happy contributing to JDRF work in this way.

*Please note that if you are under 18 years old, we will seek parental agreement and request that they attend the initial phone conversation.
