We fund international research that will cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications. We focus on investing in research that will transform the lives of people with type 1 diabetes – improving treatments today until we find a cure.
Collaborating with a wide range of partners, we work to bring the most up to date medical technology treatments to you in the fastest possible time. We raise awareness of new treatments with the NHS and government and support their pathway through to people with type 1. We successfully campaigned for continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) to be available for all. We are currently working with partners to make sure hybrid closed loop systems (HCL) are also available to anyone who wants to use them.
As the leading global type 1 diabetes charity, we work every day to help people live better with the condition, prevent people ever developing it and one day, find cures. We do this by funding research, campaigning for access to all treatments and connecting and supporting the type 1 community.
Last year we raised £1.94 million for UK research projects and gave 46,000 support resources to people with type 1 diabetes and their healthcare professionals. Learn more about our achievements to improve the lives of people living with type 1.
