Predicting risk of kidney disease in type 1 diabetes
Scientific title: Validation of Novel and Candidate Biomarkers for Diabetic Kidney Disease in Large Cohorts of people with Type 1 Diabetes
Principal Investigator: Professor Helen Colhoun
Institution: University of Edinburgh
Project duration: 01/04/2016 – 30/04/2018
Objective: This project is looking for ways to predict who is at greatest risk of developing kidney disease as a result of their type 1. Knowing this can, firstly, help researchers find the best people to take part in trials of therapies to treat or even prevent kidney disease – and, secondly, help doctors find the people who need these treatments most.
