Scientific title: Integration of genome-wide association, exome array and exome sequence data for diabetic kidney disease from JDRF- and IMI-funded consortia
Principal Investigator: Professor Mark McCarthy
Institution: University of Oxford
Project duration: 01/08/2014 – 31/07/2016

Objective: This project is bringing together data from two of the world’s largest studies of diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease) to find out how genetic factors affect a person’s risk of developing the condition, and if genetic differences affect how the condition progresses. A better understanding of these links should help researchers identify potential pathways and drugs for future nephropathy treatments.
