Research Communication and Public Engagement
Our UK team is always keen to hear about on-going type 1 diabetes research, progress and exciting breakthroughs. We may also be able to help you publicise your research. As a fundraising charity, we encourage researchers to communicate and discuss your work with supporters. Get in touch if you want to present your research at one of our events, or are interested in writing or being interviewed for our supporter publications or website.
For our early career fellows we can also offer research communication support and training, see our UK Research Communications Stipend for further information.
The Charity Research Support Fund
The Charity Research Support Fund (CRSF) supports charity investment in university research across England, with similar funds provided in the devolved nations. The CRSF allows universities to effectively leverage research funding from charities by enabling the recovery of some of the indirect costs of research that charities do not pay.
The next two or three years will be a significant period of change for the UK’s research sector with the impact of Brexit and COVID-19 and a renewed focus on global research partnerships. The AMRC will be working with its member charities and research institutions to understand better how charity funding partnerships can be placed on a sustainable footing across the range of research activity and types of research institutions.
As a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), JDRF supports the AMRC position statement supporting research in universities.
JDRF funds and supports research resources, which are relevant to scientists working in the area of type 1 diabetes and their research.
JDRF also has a number of reference documents, which outline the type 1 research landscape and our research strategy.
