JDRF ambassador Jonny Labey begins his Celebrity X Factor quest on ITV this Saturday.
The former EastEnders star, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 15, will be trying to impress Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger with his singing.
Jonny, who is a professional dancer as well as actor, is one of 15 celebrity contestants who will go in front of the judging panel in the latest carnation of the show, in the Unders category.
He became an ambassador for the type 1 diabetes charity in order to inspire young people to overcome obstacles caused by type 1 and to follow their dreams, telling JDRF: “Everyone with type 1 diabetes should have the self-belief they can achieve whatever they want in life.” You can read the full interview with him here.
Jonny has supported our fundraising events the London JDRF One Walk, Secret Garden Dinner and Pro-Celebrity Golf day. Now it’s our turn to support him by watching the show and sharing messages of encouragement for #TeamJonny on social media!
The show starts at 8.35pm and is repeated on Sundays at 2.10pm.
