The money you raise will help support vital research into the causes and treatments of type 1 diabetes, as well as providing support for everyone living with the relentless condition.
Whether you choose to host your party in your home, at a local community centre, or somewhere more adventurous, the possibilities are endless. You can get creative with decorations, games, and activities, and of course, serve delicious tea and treats.
A well as raising much needed funds, a tea party is also a chance to educate, inspire, and raise awareness of type 1 diabetes, helping to break down barriers and misconceptions.

My family and I are long-time supporters of JDRF; my sister, brother, brother-in-law and niece are all type one diabetic and have been for between four and 25 years. We try to arrange a fundraising event as often as we can to raise funds for JDRF; in the past we have organised a family fun day at the local village hall and taken part in half marathons and mud races.
The Type One Tea Party was a great excuse to get all of our family and friends together in the garden on a lovely Sunday afternoon as well as encouraging everyone, no matter their age, to help with the event by baking. We had bakers ranging from 10 to 83 years old and we raised just shy of £1,400!
