Join Team JDRF as we take on Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa, the highest mountain in Wales, and in Britain south of the Scottish Highlands.
This family-friendly challenge will follow the Llanberis Path on a 11-12 mile walk to the summit. One of the most popular routes up Snowdon, the Llanberis path heads up the northern side of this iconic mountain, often alongside the famous railway that also leads to the summit.
Starting in the town of Llanberis, on the banks of Llyn Padarn, the trail is mostly at an easy gradient, allowing you to take your time and enjoy views of the surrounding hills as you make your way up. Towards the summit, you can look back over the North Wales coastline and the Isle of Anglesey, and perhaps enjoy a summit cup of tea if the cafe is open!
The path is well-made and maintained, so is ideal for a first-ascent. The walk will be lead by experienced, full-qualified mountain leaders and will also include a picnic lunch.
Minimum age: 8 years old. All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants must be fit and able to complete the walk. If you have any concerns about medical conditions or fitness levels please contact Miranda (JDRF Regional Fundraiser for Wales), who will put you in touch with the guides for the day to talk through any concerns. Hypo treatment will be carried on the walk and all guides have mountain first aid training.
