Join us at the JDRF Discovery Day Redhill 2019, a family-friendly event to learn about the latest developments in type 1 diabetes research and meet others affected by type 1.
What the Type 1 Discovery Day involves
We’re planning a great morning focusing on health and wellbeing, which will give you the chance to hear from our guest speakers on all aspects of type 1 diabetes and, because you’ve told us that meeting other people affected by type 1 is really important to you, the day will include time to chat to other families and meet JDRF staff.
9.30am – Doors open. Refreshments available
10.00am to 12 noon – Presentations. You’ll hear about the latest progress in type 1 diabetes research and from our guest speakers
- Niki Breslin will share highs and lows of life with type 1 diabetes, her work on her own mental health, pregnancy and so much more.
- Pete Davies has had T1D for a considerable part of his life (earning him the Robert Lawrence Medal). He has fascinating stories to tell of living with type 1, his high-altitude treks and long-distance hikes.
12 noon to 12.30pm – Refreshments and the chance to chat to JDRF staff, our speakers and others affected by type 1
12.30pm – Close
For small children who do not wish to listen to the presentations, Ellie, from Buttons Parties, will be in a nearby room with craft activities.
This event is free to attend. Spaces are limited so please register soon.
