The JDRF One Walk London is a friendly, inclusive 6k and 10k walk which has something for all ages and abilities, from the littlest legs to the briskest power-walkers. Join local families affected by type 1 diabetes and millions of others around the globe – all taking steps to bring us closer to the cure.
We’re delighted to announce that actor and dancer and JDRF ambassador Jonny Labey will be opening this year’s One Walk in London on 22 September. Jonny will start the walk with a ‘dance’ warm-up for everyone taking part at the iconic Oxo Tower Wharf in London’s South Bank.
Jonny is a former EastEnders actor and professional dancer who’s appeared in numerous TV shows, films and West End musicals. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 15 years old.
The JDRF One Walk will include:
- Being part of JDRF’s flagship fundraising event
- A finisher’s medal for all the family
- Support to help you reach your fundraising targets
- An opportunity to meet other local families living with type 1, and JDRF staff members
Once you sign up we’ll help get your fundraising off to a great start by sending you a fundraising pack bursting with exciting ideas and tips. In the lead up to the walk, we will send you e-newsletters packed full of fundraising inspiration, essential information about the walk day, and the all-important walk fundraising leaderboard, so you can see where your team sits in comparison to other teams.

Are there any age restrictions?
There is no age limit for the One Walk.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
If you are coming via Tube – Southwark (Jubilee Line), Blackfrairs (Circle and District) and Waterloo (Jubilee, Northern and Bakerloo lines) are the closets stops.
Overland – Waterloo and Blackfriars
Blackfrairs is a 5 -10 minute walk from Oxo Tower Wharf, both Waterloo and Southwark are approx 10 -15 minute walk.
There are good bus links from both London Bridge and Waterloo areas. The RV1 and 381 bus runs from London Bridge to Waterloo and stops close to Oxo Tower Wharf.
There is no parking on-site, however there are car parks within 5 minutes walk: Cornwall Road car park – underground and open 24 hours; and the street level Doon Street car park (entrance on Upper Ground opposite the National Theatre). Both car parks are operated by Apcoa Parking UK. We recommend contacting them by phone on 020 7620 0357 to confirm opening and closeing times.

Yes! Please do come along and cheer on our One Walkers!
I would like to volunteer instead of walking, is that OK?
We need lots of volunteers to put on the One Walk and we would love you to join our volunteer team. Please contact Danni – details below, and she will be able to discuss the different roles available and find one that will be suitable for you.
