Insulin is not enough.

Will you help us go beyond insulin?

“I’m hopeful that, one day, research will free my children from the burden of type 1” ~ JDRF supporter Katie’s children, George and Lola, live with type 1

The discovery of insulin 100 years ago was one of the greatest medical breakthroughs ever made. It meant that a type 1 diagnosis was no longer a death sentence.

Today there is still so much to do. With your help, we can go beyond insulin and find newer, better treatments for type 1 – and above all, a cure.

Help make the next type 1 breakthrough possible.

The only way to find better treatments and the cure we all want so urgently is through research. To invest in more research, we need to raise more funds.

You can help provide the crucial funding that our world-class researchers can rely on to pursue the most promising type 1 research in the world.

Your support could help unleash the potential of immunotherapy research and revolutionise the treatment of type 1.

An immunotherapy treatment for type 1 would be a real game changer, as it would retrain the immune system not to attack insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas.

If an immunotherapy treatment could be combined with a way to replace lost beta cells, this would create a cure for type 1, even for people who have lived with it for a long time.

You could help bring us closer to an immunotherapy-based cure for type 1 diabetes.

Bigger, better immunotherapy clinical trials would provide the evidence needed to license a type 1 immunotherapy drug much faster.

Your gift could help:

  1. Increase the number of immunotherapy clinical trials being run in the UK.
  2. Make each clinical trial more efficient so we can run them in half the time, with half the volunteers.
  3. Set up a clinical trial centre within 50 miles of 50% of the UK population, so more people can take part in immunotherapy research.

Will you play a special role in finding the next type 1 research breakthrough by starting a regular gift now?
